This project is part of the proposals for the first Museum dedicated to housing the work of the sculptor Mario Irarrázaval, which was planned as part of the remodeling of San Borja’s Park, located in the center of the capital of Chile.
Within the central ideas of the landscaping project, it seeks to preserve and enhance the existing ones, such as the recreational spaces in use and the most relevant existing vegetation, to incorporate them into the design.
In this sense, the main tree plantation is maintained, while those of lesser presence such as shrubs and weeds that do not contribute to the configuration of the spaces or have not adapted well are cleaned. This means a significant reduction in the costs associated with the stage of planting and maintenance of the park.
On the other hand, it seeks to structure the route through lines of water and generate breaks with accompanying seats. In this way, the existing distribution is rearranged, to improve circulation and connectivity with the museum and its urban environment.
